Dear Friends and Colleagues, It is a great pleasure for me to welcome you all to Rome at the 2nd International Meeting on Cardiopulmonary Imaging. The congress has been designed to provide an innovative and comprehensive overview of the latest research developments in the imaging of cardiopulmonary diseases. Last year we obtained a great success discussing various imaging modalities employed in heart failure patients; this year we would like to highlight on ischemic heart diseases. The conceptual framework of the congress remains the same as the previous one: the importance of imaging in the pathophysiology, diagnosis and treatment of diseases. We strongly believe that is time to go beyond ultrasounds and improve our knowledge on all the available cardiovascular imaging modalities (from X-Rays to CMR) in order to better arrange the diagnostic and therapeutic course of patients with ischemic heart diseases. Many distinguished cardiologists and scientists have joined the faculty and will take part in this meeting. I hope that you will enjoy the congress and that your interaction with your colleagues from many different countries will stimulate a creative exchange of ideas and will be personally rewarding.
