In 2015, we started to confront, discuss and share with a panel of experts in EBM, Precision Medicine, Information Communication Technology and Narrative Medicine to consider which methodologies were essential to personalized medicine. Indeed, “EBM Renaissance” wants to combine the progress of modern technological medicine with Narrative Medicine, using creative and operative resources from Information Communication Technology (Big Data management and analysis, application of new automatic learning and artificial intelligence techniques, new types of communication between doctors and between doctors and patients, new interaction and data view models) to give professionals the necessary knowledge to create Assistential Diagnostic-Therapeutic Paths by integrating: the usage and integration of scientific knowledge by coherently using innovative and computer technology; the application of EBM and Precision Medicine integrating networks of inter-disciplinary scientific knowledge; the establishment of the relationship between patient and doctor taking into account the values of the patient, as well as psychological and religious aspects; the sharing in an international and multidisciplinary movement for EBM Renaissance aiming at personalizing diagnostic and therapeutic aspects and to integrate the essential features of Evidence Based Medicine, Precision Medicine and Narrative Medicine. In order to do this, in the preliminary meeting for the preparation of the EBM Advisory Board 2016, we decided to confront with each other on 3 different Assistential Diagnostic-Therapeutic Paths (Heart failure, Breast cancer and COPD) and assess the feasibility of the rationale mentioned above. This confrontation, discussion and sharing is not only limited to the panel of experts who already met for the preliminary meetings or to the international Opinion Leaders who will meet in Florence on next October 2016, but it will be available to the Oxford EBM Renaissance Movement and to the entire network of EBM, Precision Medicine, Information Communication Technology and Narrative Medicine followers. This will be possible through an on-line consensus Yammer platform, to give the opportunity to show interest in this EBM improvement and bringing up to date process.
