Cardiology of Today and Tomorrow: Prepared for the Future. An international symposium in St. Petersburg
In September 21st-23rd 2017 there will be the International Symposium «Cardiology of Today and Tomorrow: Prepared for the Future» in St. Petersburg. This new prominent forum is aimed at getting together the Russian and international physicians on the basis of a common goal, to improve medical care of cardiovascular patients. It will definitely become a significant event in the life of St. Petersburg medical community.
«St. Petersburg is known as a cradle of long-lasting tradition of clinical and basic research in Cardiology, as well as a reputable school contributing a lot to reduction of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality» says Professor Evgeny Shlyakhto, FESC, FACC - General Director Federal Almazov North-West Medical Research Centre and President of the Symposium. «The Russian and European cardiologists have a longstanding history of partnership and fruitful cooperation in scientific and educational spheres, which became an example of innovative approach to integrate fundamental knowledge and clinical experience in line with a concept of translational medicine. Our joint efforts allow, while saving all that was the best in the history of Cardiology, to progress rapidly and reach the most advanced positions in the modern healthcare».
In September 21st the venue for the Opening Ceremony will be the Philarmonia - Nevskiy avenue 30, St. Petersburg. There will be three main lectures from Evgeny Shlyakhto (Russia), Alberto Zanchetti (Italy) and Edward Lakatta (USA).
In September 22nd-23rd the Symposium will be the Federal Almazov North-West Medical Research Centre 2 Akkuratova st., St. Petersburg. The major themes will be European, US and Russia cardiovascular guidelines, Arterial hypertension and end organ damage, Dyslipidemia and others comorbidities, Ischemic heart disease and stable angina, Heart failure.
