2nd International colloquium on cardio-oncology

On 3-4 May, Krakow becomes the international capital of cardio-oncology: a rapidly expanding medical discipline that affects an increasing number of patients. In fact, oncology treatments often have consequences on the cardiovascular system and for this reason the intervention of experts with an overall view of the subject becomes crucial. The 2nd International colloquium on cardio-oncology is organized by: Department of medicine unit of drug sciences and clinical pharmacology campus biomedico, University of Rome (I), Abramson cancer center, Perelman school of medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia (US), under the auspices of department of Hematology Jagellonian University of Krakow (P), polish national Oncology network and polish society, with an unrestricted grant from Fondazione Internazionale Menarini. The symposium will be held at the Jagellonian University (Collegium Novum) on May 3-4, 2018 Among the speakers, many experts coming from the United States, from Israeli and from all over Europe: Switzerland, England, Italy, Spain and key opinion leaders from Poland. “We have tremendous progresses in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer – says Giorgio Minotti, president of the congress - , but at the same time, we’re witnessing that almost every anticancer drugs introduce a risk of cardiovascular events: therefore we need a discipline and series of meetings that makes focus on cardio-oncology”.
