The purpose of this traditional conference, which has been held every year since 1973 and involves the top Italian experts in the organisation, is to study coagulation disorders (haemorrhagic and thrombotic). As always, the talks on the first and second days will address the various pathophysiological, diagnostic and clinical issues of these diseases which have witnessed recent advances. Traditionally, the afternoon on the first day is always dedicated to a particularly important and compelling issue for participants. This year it will focus on the topic of the choice of laboratory tests necessary for confirming or excluding a haemorrhagic disease. In addition, a critical analysis will be made of whether and when laboratory tests are able to reduce thrombotic risks both in apparently healthy individuals and those who have already had clinical manifestations and consequently run the risk of a recurrence.
