Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of disability and mortality for global population
and, despite new therapeutic options, their burden is projected to continue to increase in the
next decade. Despite improved knowledge, availability of new therapies and devices and useful
clinical guidelines issued by International societies, the vast majority of patients and individuals
at risk are not adequately treated. There are many reasons for this including different social,
financial, and health care conditions in different countries.
It is clear that multiple risk factors have a major impact on the general population and that their
multimodal modification will decrease incidence of coronary heart disease and there is evidence that comprehensive risk factor management results in improved clinical outcomes, increased
survival and improved quality of life. Furthermore, full implementation of guideline-directed
medical therapy reduces cardiovascular events and mortality but often therapeutic inertia is the
cause for the under-treatment of patients with cardiovascular diseases. During two-days meeting state of the art and future perspectives of cardiovascular medicine, including novel cardiovascular risk factors hypertension, coronary artery disease and heart failure will be discussed by
a renowned international faculty.
We look forward to welcoming an international audience in order to provide the practicing physician with the most up-to-date information in the latest scientific guidelines and at the same
time give a comprehensive update of novel insights relevant both to the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases
